Sir Oswulf's Wedding

The Battle of Wareham Heights ended weeks ago and knights carrying the banner of Sir Roderick had returned to their homelands. I, Sir March, had slain the Oleg, the Twice Boned in the clash; a feat that earned my knighthood and landed me with Winterbourne-Gunner.

I know nothing of the place. I’ve yet to visit the manor as I am presently riding towards Laverstock at the invitation of Sir Oswulf to attend his betrothal to the Lady Adwen. Lady Adwen follows the new ways. Christian weddings are quite the public occurrence. Many will make the journey including Sir Jerran and the knights I fought alongside in the battle.

I am accompanied by my squire Keenan. He's green. I fear for the boy in the coming season.

I was first to arrive at Laverstock. Sir Oswulf's squire Thadius graciously gave me a tour of the manor. Several guest homes had been equipped for the wedding. Thadius specifically drew my attention to the extra soft "toilet tissue" within the guest quarters. He showed me an obelisk, a shrine to Lud, the God of Fire, Sun and Heaven, that stands as a reminder of the old ways. The shrine was tidy; a sign that the locals keep it in good repair.

The wedding was a grand event. Sirs' O'Chaunce, Fuedac, Uuroid, Roderick, accompanied by the young Lady Jenna, and Sir Jerran were in attendance among others. It was my first time meeting many of the knights formally.

Sir Fuedac shares my concern for Winterbourne-Gunner. I think he may help me perform a ceremony to rid the lands of the evil it holds. Winterbourne-Gunner is located next to an ancient Oak grove where we will perform the ritual.

Of the gifts presented to Sir Oswulf at the feast, Sir O'Chaunce's gift of a giant panther's pelt was the most grand.
